An interview with Maureen Rogers, a pioneer, a visionary and artist!
What is Equine CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy is a gently non invasive hands on treatment that involves treating the whole body of the horse with specific focus on the cranium/ head of the horse and the hind end or sacrum. CranioSacral originated from Osteopathy. It is one of the only therapies that involves treatment of the 26 individual bones of the skull with the whole body which brings balance to the musculoskeletal balance throughout the whole horse.
In 1999 Maureen adapted her human studies and created Equine CranioSacral Workshops, teaching the first workshop and pioneering a new field of study. |
What inspired you to create this unique collection?
Treating horses with CranioSacral and teaching for 19 years, the beauty of horse is deeper than what we see to the outside, The bones of the skull are an intricate, delicate and strong architectural structure. To be able to present it in an artful way, beyond just the anatomy of the horse, people would have a different appreciation for this intricate structure and the horse. Also, art allows the person viewing an image to see beyond what they see they think the image is!

Why did you call the project "A Cranial Perspective From a Horse's View?"
I named the project "A Cranial Perspective From a Horse's View" as it is just that... A new way of seeing the skull and bones in the beauty they have from the inside out. I hope it brings a new perspective of the horse to those that view the images!
